Aboriginal Water Officers Case Studies with Dylan Lawson
The shoot at Musk Duck Wetland was a showcase of Little Rocket’s commitment to amplifying First Nations voices, capturing the essence of traditional ecological knowledge, environmental stewardship, and the ongoing efforts to preserve and rehabilitate this significant Country. With a clear focus on Dylan Lawson’s role and the broader work of the FPMM, the production team delivered high-quality content that reflects the cultural and environmental importance of the wetland.
The Aboriginal Water Unit (AWU) engaged Little Rocket for videography and photography services. The case studies required three videos and accompanying photos to highlight the role that Aboriginal Water Officers play in increasing Traditional Owner participation in the water sector. The videos were to feature interviews with Aboriginal Water Officers (AWOs) discussing their project-based and strategic work.

The Musk Duck Wetland shoot stands out as a successful example of collaboration between Little Rocket, the First Peoples of the Millewa Mallee, and DEECA. The resulting visuals and narratives capture the harmony between cultural heritage and environmental stewardship, creating content that will inspire and inform audiences about the importance of protecting Country for future generations.
The shoot successfully fulfilled the objectives outlined by the Aboriginal Water Unit (AWU). Little Rocket delivered a high-quality video featuring Dylan Lawson, an Aboriginal Water Officer, highlighting his pivotal role in increasing Traditional Owner participation in the water sector. The video captured both his personal connection to Country and his professional contributions to ecological preservation and sustainable water management.
“Thank you … The video looks amazing, please thank Susan for her work there. Thanks!”
