Everyday tools to help: Mob guide
Introducing the Everyday Tools to Help Mob guide – a toolkit for First Nations Elders and their support networks to communicate the benefits of integrating assistive technology into everyday life to promote healthy aging.
The toolkit was developed in partnership with iLA’s LiveUp team, the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS) and the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO). Little Rocket facilitated a series of workshops with First Nations Elders and sector experts, which were pivotal in establishing the creative direction and cultural framework for the Mob guide.

The workshops provided valuable insights into designing and communicating the Mob Guide in a culturally engaging way for First Nations Elders and the wider community. To enhance accessibility, we incorporated photography to enrich the visual storytelling and used plain English for clear and easy readability. As part of this engagement, our Audio Visual team conducted two video and photo shoots with Elders from VAHS, demonstrating the practical use of assistive products to support and inform the community.
Little Rocket has since been engaged to develop a similar guide for the Italian community in Victoria, with workshops currently underway.

“iLA engaged Little Rocket to collaboratively design LiveUp resources aimed at enhancing First Nations people’s independence and freedom of choice. The team very quickly understood iLA’s vision, and adapted to our changing needs. We are very grateful for the level of genuine care and energy the team brought to the project from start to finish. You made it a fun and fulfilling experience, and it all came together effortlessly. Thanks to Little Rocket and partners we have beautiful, impactful resources, and we look forward to continuing the journey!”
