First Nations Employment Index 2025
Little Rocket was engaged by The Alliance, supported by the Minderoo Foundation, to design and deliver the 2025 First Nations Employment Index – a critical tool for measuring and improving employment outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in Australia.
Our integrated team worked closely with The Alliance across all phases of development. This included the design of the Index, supporting collateral, social media content, a website landing page, copyediting, and detailed marketing and digital strategies. We also produced the launch event on Gadigal land, including event photography and an animated explainer video.

We commissioned a feature artwork from Karungkarni Art and Culture Aboriginal Corporation, created by Ena Oscar Majapula Nanaku, a proud Gurindji and Mudburra woman. Elements and colours from Ena’s work were woven throughout the Index design. Her artwork was also projected onto the walls of Carriageworks during the launch event, bringing culture to the forefront.
The Index was officially launched on 17 March 2025, accompanied by an article in the National Indigenous Times, the event itself, and the live website. The design and storytelling were well received, sparking meaningful discussions about First Nations employment and representation in the workplace. The event brought together community members and allies to drive forward the conversation around reconciliation and change.

“I wanted to express my gratitude to you and the Little Rocket team for all the work over the course of the past 12 months. A special thanks to the broader team… I really appreciate the collaboration and understanding throughout the process. It’s now great to see that the Index lives on in an Indigenous organisation.”
